If your socket scanner won't scan, be sure to check that it is paired via bluetooth in your iPad. If it won't pair, you may have to re-program your scanner. Follow the steps below.
How to Check if Your Receipt Printer is Connected To Bluetooth
- Go to the general settings of your iPad.
- Go to the Bluetooth menu.
- If the Device is paired, it will show under My Devices and have a status of "Connected". The device is called "TM-M30II".
- If it shows a status of "Not Connected", simply tap on the device name to start connecting them.
- If the device will not connect, turn off your receipt printer, count to 3, then turn the receipt printer back on.
- Attempt to re-connect again.
How to check the device address on your receipt printer
- On the receipt printer, push the power button to turn off the receipt printer.
- Once the receipt printer is turned off, hold down the feed button.
- While holding down the feed button, push the power button, but continue to hold down the feed button until a receipt prints out.
- On this receipt, under the bluetooth section, look for "BD_ADDR"
- Once you find it, go to your SPOS app.
- On the SPOS App, go to settings, then select "Printer"
- The device address entered in the iPad should match the device address on the receipt you printed out before next to BD_ADDR.
- If the receipt shows a different device address than the iPad, update the iPad to reflect what was printed on the receipt.
- Save changes.
- Go to the general settings of the iPad and confirm that the receipt printer is still connected.
- If the receipt printer is not connected, click here to reconnect it.
- Go to the SPOS app and try to print a receipt from a previous sale.
