Set your sales tax rates and tax overrides in Material POS.

- Navigate to https://app.materialretail.com/sales-tax
- To add a sales tax rate, click on the Add Sales Tax button in the top right corner.
- Once the pop up appears, add your tax name, rate and type.
- Then click Add Tax.
- The tax rate will immediately take effect in your POS.
Adding A Sales Tax Override
You can add tax overrides to include certain tax rules within your city/state.
- Navigate to https://app.materialretail.com/sales-tax
- Find your sales tax rate for your location, then click View Tax Overrides.
- To add a tax override, click the Add Tax Override button.
- Select the department you wish to add a tax override to.
- Then select the tax rate and click save.
**NOTE: You must assign the department that has a tax override to the products that have specific tax rules, otherwise, the tax override will not work. For more information on assigning departments, click here.
