Switching to the POS from QuickBooks Desktop? Follow these steps to export your inventory item list as a spreadsheet, which can then be imported into the POS. (This is for one-time inventory migration from QuickBooks Desktop β it's separate from the QuickBooks Online integration. For that, see the QuickBooks Integration Overview.)
- In QuickBooks Desktop, pull up your Items list.
- Click File β Export to Excel.
- In the pop-up window, select Book 1.
- Under Template, click POS Export.
- Click Next.
- Click Export and download the report in .xlsx or .csv format.
