When you add a new product, you normally have to add each size one at a time. If you sell the same size runs over and over (like jeans that always come in sizes 24–32, or just "One Size"), size templates let you fill in all of the sizes for a product with a single selection.
What is a size template?
A size template is a saved set of sizes with a name — for example, a "Jeans" template containing sizes 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32. Instead of adding each size one at a time to every new product, you pick the template from a dropdown, and all nine sizes are added to the product instantly.
Applying a size template to a new product
- Go to the Add Product page.
- Scroll down to the Sizes section.
- Click the Size template (optional) dropdown and choose a template (for example, "Clothing").
- All of the sizes from the template are added to the product automatically.
- You can still fine-tune from there — click Add another size to add a size the template doesn't include, or click the red x next to any size to remove it. Changing sizes on the product does not change the saved template.
Creating a size template
There are two ways to create a template:
Option 1: From the Manage size templates window
- In the Sizes section of the Add Product page, click Manage size templates.
- Click + Create new.
- Give the template a name (for example, "Jeans" or "24-32").
- Choose a Size type (for example, Clothing small/medium/large, Clothing Numeric, or One Size).
- Under Sizes included, check off the sizes you want in the template.
- Click Save.
Your new template will now appear in the Size template (optional) dropdown every time you add a product.
Option 2: Save the sizes you already entered
If you've already added sizes to a product by hand and want to reuse that same size run later, click Save as size template at the bottom of the Sizes section. Give it a name, and it will be available in the dropdown for future products.
Editing or deleting a template
- In the Sizes section, click Manage size templates.
- Click the pencil icon next to a template to rename it or change which sizes it includes, or click the trash icon to delete it.
- You can also click Edit template next to the dropdown to jump straight into editing the template that's currently selected.
Editing or deleting a template does not affect products you've already created with it.
