With Tap to Pay, you can accept contactless payments directly from your iPhone using Material POS. No physical card reader is required.
Customers can pay by tapping their contactless card or using Apple Pay.
Getting Started
Tap to Pay is available to all Material merchants.
To get started:
- Contact the Material team to let us know you'd like to use Tap to Pay.
- We'll configure a new Terminal Profile Number (TPN) with Tap to Pay enabled.
- We'll schedule a quick 5-minute call to help you get everything set up.
- Once setup is complete, you can take payments directly from your iPhone through Material POS.
What You Need
- An iPhone XS or later
- iOS 18 or later
- A TPN with Tap to Pay enabled
A Few Things to Know
- Tap to Pay is available on iPhone only. iPads do not have the hardware needed to support Tap to Pay.
- If your Wi-Fi goes down but your iPhone still has cellular service, you can continue taking payments normally.
