Setting Up The Device With The Genius App

1. Download the Genius Mini iOS app onto the iPad by either searching in the app store or clicking here.

2. Turn on your Cayan Genius Mini device by pressing the power button.

3. Once the device is connected/turned on, in the iPad open the Genius Mini app (it’s white with a big blue G on it)

4. In the Genius app, in the top left corner it’ll say “No Device. Please select a device.”. Click this.

5. Select the bluetooth connection option in the menu that slides open.

6. A new menu will appear with a list of bluetooth devices. There should be a device with an Id starting with something like “CHB…” or “CHC…”. Click on the device name and wait for it to connect.

7. Go back to the Genius app homepage, and in the top left corner it should say "Bluetooth reader connected"

8. Click on the little “i” icon in the top right corner.

9. The first line item on the Info page should be an IP address. Write this down.

10. At the bottom of the Info page, there is a button called “Test”. Click this button. It should spin for a few moments and then say “Test Succeeded”.

Setting up the Genius with the iPad

1. Exit out of the Genius app and go into the POS app.

2. In the POS app, go to Settings and then tap on Cards Processing.

3. Fill out the Merchant Credentials provided to you by Cayan and save your changes.

4. In the “device address” field, enter the IP address you wrote down from the Genius app.

5. Then make sure the “Use Genius App” toggle is turned on (on = brown, off = white).

6. Make sure the “Use HTTP” toggle is turned on (on = brown, off = white).

7. Click the Save Changes button.

8. You can now process cards through your Cayan Genius Mini.
